Project: Development of the Regional Airports

Role: Commercial Managers

The Sultanate of Oman is embarking on an ambitious project to expand their airport infrastructure throughout Oman with the initial development of four domestic regional airports at Adam, Al Duqm, Ras Al Hadd and Sohar to meet the growing requirement of the aviation sector with regards passenger and cargo transport as a result of the commercial and tourism developments at these locations. Each airport is of similar design, but has its own unique characteristics to meet its requirements including VIP facilities at Adam and Sohar and cargo facilities at Sohar and Al Duqm. Each airport will provide state of the art facilities for passengers with a 6,000m 2 terminal building, as well as a 4,000m runway. Each airport will also include an air navigation complex, including a 38m tall Air Traffic Control Tower, various service facilities, a fuel farm and aircraft rescue and firefighting facilities as well as other infrastructure.
